Client Introduction

Qatar Petroleum (QP) and the Qatar Ministry of Interior (MOI) have established the Ras Laffan Emergency and Safety College (RLESC) to provide training courses in Qatar and the MENA region. This initiative aims to cater to Qataris interested in pursuing careers within QP and the Energy/Industry sector. Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), a member of the Texas A&M University System, has been entrusted with delivering Pro-Board certified and non-certified training at the RLESC.

Various training and skill development programs offered by RLESC include:

  • Academic, English Language, and Vocational training programs for secondary school graduates seeking technical and clerical jobs at QP.
  • Preparing Qatari secondary school graduates for degree study programs in Qatar, the UK, USA, Australia, and Canada through the Academic Bridge Program (ABP).
  • Training employee-level staff (ELS) to enhance their performance standards and facilitate career progression.
  • Arranging English language courses for employees and trainees at all levels, including QP subsidiaries, affiliated companies, and external organizations, companies, and ministries in Qatar.

Need

QP required a web-based user interface solution that is user-friendly and capable of managing various processes, programs, participants, and infrastructure. The desired features included enrollment management, sales and marketing, student/trainer/teacher profiles, course design, certificate/document generation, library management, audit trail, accommodation, transport, and more.

The solution needed to:

  • Allow a high degree of customization and modification at the user interface level, without altering the underlying schema or source code.
  • Provide reasonable response times for data input, reports, and queries.
  • Host all software, hardware, and databases in a data center within QP's premises in Doha.

Solution

QP adopted Sonet's eSCOP, a proprietary solution developed in partnership with Infoventures, to address their requirements.
